NUC Denies Accreditation Of Nine Programes In Lagos State University

 The National University Commission (NUC) has denied Lagos State University, LASU accreditation of nine academic programmes, according to the current bulleting of the institution released on Wednesday.

The programmes include such undergraduate courses as Business Administration, English, French, Philosophy and Yoruba. Other include Insurance, Electronics, Computer Engineering and Mechanical Engineering that were placed on interim list.
However the commission accredited 11 out of 20 postgraduate and undergraduate academic programmes of the university, the bulletin revealed.
The programmes that were granted accreditation include Law, Accounting, Banking and Finance, Theatre Art, Music, Physiology, ‎Physical and Health Education full accreditation.

It said that terminal and academic masters of Business Administration, Human Resources and Personnel Management and Public Administration were also accredited, while Masters of Public Administration was not accredited.

According to the bulletin, NUC carried out the exercise in October 2014 and June 2015 respectively and conveyed the results of the accreditation to the management of the institution.

The commission also fixed the maturity for the review of the courses ‎at 2017 and 2020 respectively, the bulletin further stated.
