Atiku donates N10m cash to Awolowos in HID biography launch

 Former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar caused a stir on Wednesday at the launch of a biography, “In the Radiance of the Sage: The Life and Times of HID Awolowo” where he donated N10 million cash.

The former vice president ordered one of his aides to bring out the money from his car to daze other personalities and organizers who were expecting a cheque.
Atiku who was the chief presenter at the occasion described the late HID Awolowo as the best first lady Nigeria ever had. To him, the late sage and premier of the old Western Region, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, owed his successes in life largely to the contributions of the late matriarch.
Written by Prof. Wale Adebanwi, the Awolowo family did the public presentation of the book in Ikenne, Ogun State, the country home of the Awolowos.

Present at the event were former governor of Abia State, Chief Orji Uzor Kalu, who was represented by the Managing Director of New Telegraph Newspaers, Mrs. Funke Egbemode; former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole; Hon. Ladi Adebutu, Senator Anthony Adefuye, Senator Babafemi Ojudu, Prince Ademola Adeniji-Adele; Juju music maestro, Chief Commander Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi attended and donated various amounts to support the publishing of the book, paid through cheques.
